What's included in a health check?

A blood-test health check always has four parts: a digital referral, sample collection at a clinic (takes a few minutes), analysis at an accredited laboratory, and a digital result with reference ranges and a comment from a licensed doctor. You never need to contact healthcare services first.

How it works – step by step

  1. Choose a test. Choose based on age, symptoms and what you want to know. The test guide gives you 2–3 suggestions in two minutes if you're unsure.
  2. Give a sample. You get a digital referral and visit a sample collection site, either drop-in or by appointment. Some tests require fasting – this is stated in your order.
  3. Lab analysis. The sample is analysed at a laboratory accredited by Swedac for medical analysis.
  4. Doctor-reviewed result. The result is published digitally with reference ranges and a doctor's comment on what the values mean and whether anything should be followed up.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to fast before the health check?
Some tests, such as blood sugar and blood lipids, require 8–10 hours of fasting to give reliable results. Your order will clearly state whether fasting is required for your specific test.
Who reviews my test results?
All test results are reviewed by a licensed doctor who explains what the values mean relative to the reference ranges and whether anything should be followed up.
How long does it take to get results?
Results are published digitally, usually within a few business days after sample collection, together with reference ranges and the doctor's comment.
What do high or low values mean?
Each marker has a reference range. Values outside the range can be due to temporary factors but may also need follow-up – the doctor's comment in the result helps you interpret them. Read more about individual markers in our marker guide.
